Referral Program Terms

TypeLords runs a referral program that rewards both you and the friend you bring along with TL Coins. These terms explain how it works, what counts as a valid referral, and the rules that keep the program fair. They are part of our Terms of Service. If anything here conflicts with the main Terms, the main Terms control.

1. How it works

• Every TypeLords account is assigned a unique 8-character referral code. You can find yours on your console.
• When someone visits typelords.com through your referral link, we store the code in a cookie (tl_ref) on their browser for up to 60 days.
• If that visitor creates an account within those 60 days, we credit both of you with TL Coins at the moment the account is created.

2. What you earn

• Welcome bonus — every new TypeLords account receives 250 TL Coins at signup, whether or not they came in via a referral link.
• Referral bonus — when a new signup is attributed to your referral code, you receive an additional 250 TL Coins, and the new signup receives an additional 250 TL Coins on top of their welcome bonus.

TL Coins are credited automatically at the moment the new account is created. There's no separate redemption step.

3. What TL Coins are (and aren't)

TL Coins are an in-product reward unit:

• They have no cash value. You cannot redeem them for money, and we cannot pay them out.
• They are non-transferable. You cannot send TL Coins from one account to another.
• They can be used inside TypeLords for in-product benefits as the platform evolves. We will announce uses in advance.
• We may adjust the coin economy (issuance rates, mechanics, what they unlock) at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active users.

4. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old and have an active TypeLords account in good standing to participate.
• Both the referrer and the referred friend must comply with our Terms of Service and our Fair Usage Policy.
• A referral is only credited if the new signup is attributed to your referral code via the cookie set when they clicked your link. If the cookie has expired, been cleared, or never arrived (e.g. ad-blocker), no referral is credited.
• A referrer can only credit the same referred user once. Subsequent accounts created by the same person from the same referral link do not credit additional bonuses.

5. What is NOT a valid referral

The following are abuse, not referrals, and will result in forfeiture of bonuses and may result in account suspension:

• Self-referrals. Signing up via your own link from a second browser, device, or email address.
• Farm accounts. Creating multiple accounts under identities you control in order to harvest bonuses.
• Coordinated rings. Two or more users referring each other in a loop or chain to inflate bonuses.
• Incentivised signups outside our channels. Paying someone, or offering goods/services, in exchange for signing up under your referral link.
• Misleading promotion. Presenting your link in a way that misrepresents TypeLords, claims a payout, or otherwise deceives the person clicking.
• Spam. Mass-distributing your link by unsolicited email, SMS, DMs, forum/comment spam, or paid traffic that violates platform rules.

6. Fraud and reversal

We monitor the referral program for abuse and may, at our discretion:

• Reverse TL Coins credited for invalid or fraudulent referrals.
• Cancel future referrals from accounts engaged in abuse.
• Suspend or terminate the accounts involved.
• Adjust or void rewards earned via stage unlocks, certificates, or journey progress that were funded by fraudulent referral coins.

Suspect referral activity is reviewed by a human admin before action. If you believe a reversal was made in error, you can appeal via email — see Section 9.

7. Tax

TL Coins are an in-product reward with no cash value and no redemption path. We do not believe they constitute taxable income to recipients. However, tax treatment varies by jurisdiction and is ultimately your responsibility. If you receive an unusually large volume of TL Coins through the program and you're unsure, consult a tax professional in your country.

8. Changes and ending the program

We may modify or discontinue the referral program at any time, including changing the bonus amounts, the cookie window, the eligibility rules, or the program structure entirely. Material changes will be communicated by email to active users at least 14 days in advance, except for changes required for fraud prevention or legal compliance, which may take effect immediately.

TL Coins already credited to you under the program are not affected by changes to future program terms, except where they were credited fraudulently (see Section 6).

9. Contact and appeals

Questions, disputes, or appeals related to the referral program: ping@typelords.com from the email address registered on your TypeLords account. Include your referral code and a brief description of the issue. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
